These Saturday excursions are the perfect way to spend a delightful day in St. Jacobs, one of the most popular shopping destinations in the area! We'll spend the morning at the St. Jacobs Farmer's Market, where you can browse from the vast array of locally grown fresh produce, meats, cheese, baking and more. Then we head to downtown St. Jacobs, a beloved destination stepped in hi story and set in a charming location along the Conestoga River. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the downtown area from you to choose from for lunch on your own. Spend the afternoon browsing in the unique shops of the downtown area, with exquisite gifts, crafts, fashions, antiques and more!

Quilts of France at the Ailsa Craig Quilt Festival

Welcome to the charming community of Ailsa Craig, host to the International Quilting Exhibition. This year we welcome quilters from France to celebrate the 5th Annual Quilt Festival. We'll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at Damien's in St. Marys, then off to enjoy the Ailsa Craig Community Quilt Festival. At the Town Hall, we'll hear how the ancient art of quilting has evolved in France and see a slide show presentation; then we're off to the Community Centre, where we'll view the display of over a 100 quilts and meet some of the Quilters. Each of these quilts are exquisite works of The Festival also offers a variety of Workshops, Merchant's Mall, a Daily Showcase and Quilter's Cafè. The Ailsa Craig Community Quilt Festival is unlike any other in the world, a non profit organization dedicatd to the quilting of their local and international communities through shared appreciation for this ancient craft and beautiful technique, with all the proceeds going to local charities. Come out and enjoy the exquisite quilts of France, while supporting this worthy cause!
